Dear Television,
Your hit station MTV has been a huge success, and we congratulate you. Even though concerts now have to live up to your music video standards, which add a lot of time, cost, and high tech equipment, we here at radio are excited to see you progress. Recording and radio can go hand in hand, and our artists are very excited to have a break from the road, seeing as fewer acts can afford to take to the road. Vacation time, right?
Also, we would like to thank you for your assistance in introducing new artists to the world. Your talent search shows just definitely make our lives so much easier, taking the tremendous pressure (or need in general) off of us to introduce new artists through our own medium.
Since your arrival, radio has had to go local and find new functions in order to survive. We here at radio aren’t sure how you are able to step over us, brushing us under the rug like a pile of kitchen dirt, but we won’t go down without a fight. As much as we’d like to pretend that we’re all honky-dory with each other, television almost ruined us. Do you have something against us?! Of course, convergence has been a huge thing, but we will not succumb to pure television or internet videos as the “new radio’. We are radio, we are alive, and we will survive.
Sincerely,
Radio
Hey Radio, just wait until the Internet and MP3s come around. They you an TV will seem like old buds.
